Here, you can talk about anything from what games you're getting for Christmas to that hot girl you saw on the street today. Just talk about anything.

Same here, I love it. I plan on selling my 80gb PS3 for 400 bucks. Should I? I'm raising up for a new laptop.Azurius wrote:So it's awesome being out of school, how 'bout you guys?

Well I, for one, am not a fan of PS3s, what with their failing and stuff, but do you really need a new laptop?
I only got my new laptop when my old one broke.
What kind of laptop do you want? I can help you with that, as I did a ton of research before I bought mine

A laptop is definitely more worth it then the PS3. For some reason lately i've just been burnt out of playing consoles. I mean..i've been renting games but it's just like "Eh, i'll go on the computer instead."
Also, you can actually get really good deals on NICE laptops nowadays. Well, i'm using a desktop but it was only $1000 for a quad core, 3GB RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, and 8800 GT graphics card so..just look around.
Also, i'm out of school in like 10 days. Senior year..i'm heading to college in the Fall. Damn excited.

Hey, me too, what college you going to (you don't have to tell me)
Took me ages to decide which college I wanted to go to, but I ended up choosing U. Edinburgh. Gonna be fun
My new laptop is awesome, and while I spent a big portion of my savings on it, I will be making the majority of it back this summer
I have a Studio XPS 1640 with a intel core2Duo at 2.67 GHz, 4GB of RAM, 64 bit Vista Premium with some awesome graphics card
But yes, I got a great deal on mine, and saw some other awesome stuff

I'm going to Northern Michigan University, i live here and it's free for me since my mom works there. That laptop is pretty nice. Did you know they have computers with things called Extreme Cores? Or something like that. It's pretty intense. It must start up in 5 sec and shut down in 3. Mine starts up in 30 and shuts down in 10.

Well, I need a decent laptop under 500 bucks. I looked at the ASUS Eee PC Seashell or just the normal Eee PC but it didn't show the price and I believe it's over 500 dollars. I need something similar to the HP Pavilion, but less expensive. Something light-weight with a good memory drive. Do you know anything similar?Azurius wrote:Well I, for one, am not a fan of PS3s, what with their failing and stuff, but do you really need a new laptop?

the eee pcs are very cheap
the 1000HE just came out a few months ago, it's like $380
although the eees aren't very good for high-end gaming, more just netbook..
although i heard you can get pretty good performance in lower end games

Re: [The Official Conversation Thread]
Yea, my mom has a eee pc, and it is cool, has 7 or so hours of battery life.
The only major complaint I have with it is that its keyboard is SO small, that typing on it is a major pain.
I am not sure how much memory you can get them with, however...

Re: [The Official Conversation Thread]
oh and a 100% must...
upgrade the memory from the 1 gb to 2 gbs..
it's only like another $20
if you go here you can get the laptop and the memory together
if you want a specific color, watch the prices...two weeks ago, black was at 390 and blue was at 375, now they're both at 384, etc..the $15-20 doesn't make that much of a difference, but i'm not sure about your budget so just watch that
and in the frequently bought together thing, it has the laptop, the memory, and a case for it...
ditch the case, as the laptop already comes with one:
"What's in the Box
The Eee PC packaging comes with an ASUS Eee PC 1000HE, AC adapter, travel sleeve, and printed operating instructions. It's backed by a 1-year warranty on parts and labor."
and one more thing...I've heard the ac adapter doesn't fit that well in the travel case with the laptop...minor detail there
oh and the laptop comes with xp preinstalled, which is a big up from most modern laptops which come with mac or vista (DOWN WITH VISTA)
wow that was like...double edit already...

Re: [The Official Conversation Thread]
I'd like a logical reasoning to hate on Vista, if you haven't used it then you shouldn't say much...i have it and i actually prefer it over XP in certain ways, but file managing is a little more fussy.

Re: [The Official Conversation Thread]
I have vista right now, and if I was able to switch back to xp I would. Having to click ok 3 different times to just edit some file it retarded.
However, it does have many cool features, which is why windows 7 will be the most awesome thing ever.

Azurius, if you go to the control panel -> user accounts -> user account control, turn it off and you reduce the three clicks to one or so..but then the windows security things starts firing at you...
